Stroll around Westport and visit the many pubs, like Matt Molloy's, restaurants and coffee shops or treat yourself to local culinary delights such as Cornrue Bread, Bean West Coffee or just hole up in your accommodation where, in our lovely dining room you can treat yourself and hire a chef or order a takeaway and not leave the comfort of your roost.
For couples looking for a weekend escape or a longer stay we offer the beautifully renovated Garden Shed or The Cart House. Both have been designed with comfort in mind and have been fitted out with super-comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and birch ply kitchens fully equipped for your stay. The Roost is an ideal spot to come back to after a day exploring Westport town or visiting the many wonderful surrounding attractions.
We ran The Roost as a B&B (formerly St. Anthony’s) for several years but with an expanding young family decided that turning the B&B into boutique self-catering accommodation was the way to go. We felt the house was very special and to do it justice it needed to have people in it who would spend time around the large dining room table in the evenings, enjoying the atmosphere or making the most of the fabulous garden space in the centre of town. We wanted to create a beautiful home that people could come to and relax as if it was their own. Having always kept hens at the B&B, our kids came up with the name The Roost.
Sitting on an acre in Westport town, we have also renovated two other boutique self catering accommodation units on the site, The Garden Shed and the Old Cart House which are perfect for two. We love The Roost and our garden, and it is very much a labour of love. Paul is the structural one loves boilers and insulation and Linda is the one who takes care of the interiors. We really hope you enjoy your time in our home and in Westport town. We are delighted to Welcome you to the Roost.

THE MAIN HOUSE
The Roost is the charming main house, comfortably sleeping 14 people. Built in the 1830's Paul has completely renovated the plumbing and wiring. The house has been added to over the years and has two sitting rooms, one with a gas fire and the other with a timber stove, great for keeping cosy on those long winter evenings. It has a downstairs WC, a dining room with a large dining table perfect for lounging over long evening meals and a glass of wine. A fully equipped kitchen is provided to help you create a culinary feast for friends or family, or why not take a night off and treat yourself and hire a chef? The house is perfect for family and friends gathering and very well-behaved parties.
The house is over three floors, two bedrooms in the attic and five bedrooms on the first-floor. The bedrooms are very comfortable with feather duvets, pillows and cotton bed linen. Luckily for our guests, all bedrooms are ensuite as a legacy from our B&B days. Sheila, Paul’s mum, had a wonderful eye and spent many years on the look out for simple pine furniture so we are fortunate to have our bedrooms simply decorated with old pine pieces and are bright and airy. The Roost is a mixture of old and new and has been thoughtfully and tastefully decorated so that guests can feel like they can completely unwind and relax in this unique setting in the heart of Westport town.
