Come Home
to The Roost
A short stroll from the heart of Westport, The Roost is a unique collection of self-catering properties along the banks of the Carrowbeg River. Near enough to walk to town for dinner, far enough from it to properly unwind.
Originally built in the 1830s as a residence for the local clergy, The Manse anchors the property with its period character and generous proportions, with two further properties — The Cart House and The Hideaway — set within the grounds. Bookable together for larger groups or individually as self-contained retreats for two, there's a combination to suit any occasion. And whether you're gathering the extended family, celebrating with friends or simply escaping with someone you love, The Roost offers something increasingly rare — real character, contemporary comfort and a setting that's hard to forget.
Our companion property, The Row on Westport's historic John's Row, extends that same sense of place a little closer to the action — another way to make Westport your own.
MEET YOUR HOSTS
At the heart of The Roost are your hosts, husband-and-wife founders Paul and Linda. Their deep-rooted connection to the community – Paul was raised in The Manse (the main property) – informs every aspect of their hospitality, from the local artists they champion to their recommendations on where to dine, drink and explore. Their insider knowledge brings a level of detail and curation to your stay that enriches each moment, from the first welcome to the final farewell.
Paul, a natural storyteller, will charm you with anecdotes about Westport’s storied past and legendary characters, while Linda’s personality shines through in The Roost’s polished but inviting aesthetic. But it’s their genuine warmth and passion for hosting that elevates each stay into a one-of-a-kind experience – relaxed, refined and distinctly personal.
